The Intro 02:09
I guess we're even. I guess we're fine. I guess we're both fucked up this time. I guess it's simple the way you do, Get out of my face before I hurt you. I'm gone.
2.
Coping 05:14
I see who you are. I'm not impressed. I see who you have been and I know someday that you will come undone. My world is coming to an end. Why do I contest when there is no one left? Does it make you feel small? Don't subject me to my life. Does it make you feel small? And it kills me, brown eyes. I see why you did this. It's not expressed. I see where you have been and I know someday that I will come undone. And my world is coming to an end. Why do I contest when there is no one left? You are responsible for the effort, not the outcome. And as I sit beside the sea, my thoughts have drifted yet again to dwell on you and me.
3.
Bite Me 04:04
Dear Juliet, I swear I thought I'd never see you again. But now you're staring me down in the front yard. Damnit, why are you making this so hard? I remember when you told me that you had nothing on me. And I felt great. I hope it's good for you in any way you please. I hope it's good for you and him and all the others. Cuz it was never good for me. I hope it's good for him. I hope it's good for you. I hope it's good for you and him, and all those others too. Do you remember when you told me you had nothing? Do remember when I told you I was through. Do remember when we ruled the God damned world? And this all fell through cuz I still love you. I can't believe you. I fucking hate you but I can't.
4.
And I will take this to the grave that I think about you everyday. I feel used and out of breath and this late October weather has me dead. My mind wonders what you are doing "all alone." My mind wonders where you have been or who you've been with. You said you owe me nothing, but I cannot stand when you go to bed and you're smiling, and it's not my fault. At least he makes you happy, that's more than I can say I did. At least he makes you smile, and I'm sorry that I cramped your style. This town is so dried up, and I'm sick of feeling stuck.
5.
The Outro 00:56
I can't stand this God damned town. You can't just sit there and watch me drown. Sometimes I wonder why I try. The levees don't break so why should I?

about

Please visit SummerHoldsTheEarth.bandcamp.com

This is the first studio EP of Summer Holds The Earth. It has vestiges of a pop punk feel while exploring deeper tunings and different progressions than the earlier work of the same artists.

The content of this record entails the frustrations brought on by two different but similar entities a person will experience in their lifetime. One being a force of sex and misunderstanding, and the other embodying platonicism and friendship.

This is Friends Without Benefits.
This record is Time Table Records Collective #4 (TTRC#4).
